A more powerful version offers 252hp and can cover 0-62mph in a hot-hatch worrying 6.3 seconds and claim 38mpg. A high-performance M40i variant sporting a 360hp 3.0-litre petrol will also be offered and is capable of dispatching 0-62mph in 4.8 seconds.
Diesel options include a 190hp 2.0-litre that hits 0-62mph in eight seconds and returns a claimed 52mpg. A more powerful six-cylinder 3.0-litre diesel features 265hp and can race from 0-62mph in a rapid 5.8 seconds and will return up to a claimed 47mpg. All X3s will be fitted with an eight-speed automatic gearbox and all-wheel drive as standard while functions such as automatic cruise control and lane keeping assistance will be offered.
